Equipment

  • Medium saucepan
  • Spoon or whisk
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Knife and cutting board (for garlic)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Pineapple Juice
  • 1 cup Ketchup
  • 2 tbsp French’s Classic Mustard
  • 1/4 cup Honey
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch for thickening
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar packed
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1/4 cup Water

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, combine pineapple juice, ketchup, mustard, honey, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, garlic, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.
  • In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with water to form a slurry. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer.
  • Slowly add the cornstarch slurry to the saucepan while continuously stirring. Cook for 3-5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken to your desired consistency. Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning if needed.
  • Once thickened, remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving. Store any leftover sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.

Notes

➤ Sweetness Level: The sweetness of this sauce comes from both pineapple juice and brown sugar. If you prefer a less sweet sauce, you can reduce the amount of brown sugar or honey to suit your taste.
➤ Consistency: If you prefer a thinner sauce, you can skip the cornstarch or use less of it. For a thicker, glaze-like consistency, you can add a little more cornstarch and cook it a bit longer.
➤ Adjusting Flavor: Feel free to experiment with adding extra ingredients like smoked paprika for a smokier flavor, or chili flakes for some heat.
➤ Vegan Option: If you’re looking to make this sauce vegan, simply substitute honey with maple syrup or agave nectar.
