- 1 cup Pineapple Juice
- 1 cup Ketchup
- 2 tbsp French’s Classic Mustard
- 1/4 cup Honey
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp Cornstarch for thickening
- 1/2 cup Brown Sugar packed
- 2 cloves Garlic minced
- 1 tsp Onion Powder
- 1/4 cup Water
In a medium saucepan, combine pineapple juice, ketchup, mustard, honey, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, garlic, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.
In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with water to form a slurry. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer.
Slowly add the cornstarch slurry to the saucepan while continuously stirring. Cook for 3-5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken to your desired consistency. Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning if needed.
Once thickened, remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving. Store any leftover sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
➤ Sweetness Level: The sweetness of this sauce comes from both pineapple juice and brown sugar. If you prefer a less sweet sauce, you can reduce the amount of brown sugar or honey to suit your taste.
➤ Consistency: If you prefer a thinner sauce, you can skip the cornstarch or use less of it. For a thicker, glaze-like consistency, you can add a little more cornstarch and cook it a bit longer.
➤ Adjusting Flavor: Feel free to experiment with adding extra ingredients like smoked paprika for a smokier flavor, or chili flakes for some heat.
➤ Vegan Option: If you’re looking to make this sauce vegan, simply substitute honey with maple syrup or agave nectar.
