Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup salted butter softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons 16 g cornstarch
  • 300 mL cold milk oat milk, almond milk, or regular milk
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 50 mL warm water
  • ¾ cup 177 g chocolate chips (semi-sweet, dark, or white)

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven:

  • Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

Mix Dry Ingredients:

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, matcha powder, baking powder, salt, and cornstarch until fully combined. Set aside.

Cream Butter and Sugars:

  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened salted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar using an electric mixer or a whisk until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

Add Wet Ingredients:

  • Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture, and mix until well incorporated. In a small bowl, combine the cold milk, honey, and warm water, stirring until the honey dissolves, then pour this liquid mixture into the butter-sugar mixture and blend.

Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:

  • Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring gently with a spoon or spatula until everything is fully incorporated. You should have a thick dough.

Fold in Chocolate Chips:

  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips until they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Shape the Cookies:

  • Use a spoon or cookie scoop to form small balls of dough, placing them about 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet.

Bake:

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges of the cookies are golden but the center is still soft.

Cool:

  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack to cool completely.
