Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon molasses
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon mustard powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon liquid smoke
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions
 

Heat the oil:

  • In a medium saucepan, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat.

Combine ingredients:

  • Add the ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and molasses to the pan. Stir well to combine.

Add spices:

  • Mix in the smoked paprika, mustard powder, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and liquid smoke. Stir continuously to prevent sticking.

Simmer:

  • Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce cook for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly.

Cool and store:

  • Remove from heat and allow the sauce to cool. Transfer to a clean, airtight container or glass jar. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
