- 1 cup honey
- 1 –2 teaspoons red pepper flakes adjust to your heat preference
- 1 –2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar
- 1 –2 teaspoons hot sauce
- Pinch of salt
In a small saucepan, add 1 cup honey, 1–2 tsp red pepper flakes, apple cider vinegar and hot sauce if using. Stir gently to combine.
Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Do not let it boil — just heat until you see small bubbles forming (around 3–5 minutes).
Remove from heat and let it steep for 10–15 minutes. This allows the flavors of the chili flakes to fully infuse the honey.
If you want a smooth sauce, strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a clean jar or container to remove the chili flakes. Skip this step if you prefer texture or visual spice.
Allow the hot honey to cool completely before sealing. Store in a glass jar at room temperature. It stays good for several weeks.
Drizzle over pizza, fried chicken, roasted vegetables, biscuits, or use as a dip. Enjoy the sweet-heat combo!
