Equipment

  • Small saucepan
  • Measuring spoons
  • Measuring cup
  • Wooden spoon or spatula
  • Heatproof jar or glass container for storage

Ingredients

  • 1 cup honey
  • 1 –2 teaspoons red pepper flakes adjust to your heat preference
  • 1 –2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 –2 teaspoons hot sauce
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, add 1 cup honey, 1–2 tsp red pepper flakes, apple cider vinegar and hot sauce if using. Stir gently to combine.
  • Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Do not let it boil — just heat until you see small bubbles forming (around 3–5 minutes).
  • Remove from heat and let it steep for 10–15 minutes. This allows the flavors of the chili flakes to fully infuse the honey.
  • If you want a smooth sauce, strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a clean jar or container to remove the chili flakes. Skip this step if you prefer texture or visual spice.
  • Allow the hot honey to cool completely before sealing. Store in a glass jar at room temperature. It stays good for several weeks.
  • Drizzle over pizza, fried chicken, roasted vegetables, biscuits, or use as a dip. Enjoy the sweet-heat combo!
