  • Measuring spoons and cups
  • Blender (optional, for a smoother sauce)
  • Storage jar or container

Ingredients

  • ½ cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons tomato ketchup
  • 1 –2 habanero peppers finely minced (adjust according to heat preference)
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic minced
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

Prep Ingredients:

  • Finely mince the habanero peppers, being careful not to touch your face. Use gloves if desired.

Combine in Saucepan:

  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine honey, apple cider vinegar, ketchup, minced habanero, garlic, cumin, ginger powder, onion powder, and lemon juice.

Simmer the Sauce:

  • Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. Allow it to cook for about 8–10 minutes, or until slightly thickened and the flavors have melded.

Cool & Store:

  • Let the sauce cool before transferring it to a jar or airtight container. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
