Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 to 1 cup 115–225g unsalted butter, softened or melted
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 to 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 to 2 large eggs
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 to 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/4 to 2 cups milk chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it so the cookies don’t stick.
  • In a large bowl, combine the softened (or melted) butter with the white sugar and brown sugar. Mix until smooth, creamy, and fully combined.
  • Beat in 1 or 2 eggs depending on how rich you want the cookies. Add 1 or 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract. Stir until everything is incorporated.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients. Mix gently until just combined do not over mix, or the cookies may become tough.
  • Add 1¼ to 2 cups of milk chocolate chips. Gently fold them into the dough until they are evenly distributed.
  • Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie. Bake for 10–12 minutes. The edges should be golden, but the centers should remain soft.
  • Let the chocolate chip cookies with milk recipe cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes, then transfer them to a cooling rack to cool completely.
