  • 3 cups 18 ounces chocolate chips (see note)
  • 1 cup 4 ounces coarsely chopped walnuts or pecans

  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened to room temperature
  • 1 large egg at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and honey until creamy. Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until fully blended.
  • Slowly add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped nuts evenly.
  • Scoop tablespoon-sized dough portions onto the baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches between each. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges turn lightly golden.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
