Equipment

  • Saucepan
  • Spoon or whisk
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Frank’s RedHot Sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons molasses
  • 1 teaspoon chipotle powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter cubed and cold

Instructions

Combine Ingredients:

  • In a medium saucepan, add all the ingredients—Frank’s RedHot Sauce, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, garlic powder, onion powder, brown sugar, celery salt, apple cider vinegar, molasses, chipotle powder, black pepper, and cold cubed butter.

Simmer the Sauce:

  • Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the sauce to a simmer, stirring frequently to ensure that the brown sugar dissolves and the butter is fully incorporated into the mixture.

Cook and Stir:

  • Allow the sauce to simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. The sauce should thicken and become smooth as it cooks. If you want a thinner sauce, you can simmer it for a shorter time; for a thicker sauce, simmer a bit longer.

Taste and Adjust:

  • Taste the sauce towards the end of cooking. If you prefer it spicier, you can add more chipotle powder or a little more Frank’s RedHot Sauce. If you want it sweeter, adjust the brown sugar to your liking.

Cool and Serve:

  • Once the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency, remove it from the heat and allow it to cool slightly before serving. You can use it immediately or store it in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
