Ingredients
  

  • 1 medium raw beetroot peeled and chopped
  • 1 medium carrot peeled and chopped
  • 1 apple cored and chopped
  • ½ inch piece of fresh ginger peeled
  • ½ lemon peeled and seeds removed
  • ½ cup water adjust as needed

Instructions
 

  • Begin by thoroughly washing all the produce. Peel and chop the beetroot, carrot, apple, and ginger into small pieces to make blending or juicing easier.
  • If using a juicer, feed the beetroot, carrot, apple, ginger, and lemon through the juicer one by one, collecting the juice in a container.
  • If using a blender, place all the chopped ingredients in the blender jar along with ½ cup of water. Blend on high until smooth.
  • For a smoother juice, pour the blended mixture through a fine strainer or cheesecloth into a bowl or pitcher, pressing or squeezing out as much liquid as possible.
  • Stir the juice and taste. Adjust by adding more water if it’s too thick or tart. Chill if desired. Serve immediately for the freshest flavor and maximum nutrients.

Notes

Notes: Fresh ginger adds a nice zing but can be omitted if you prefer a milder taste. Lemon brightens the flavor and balances the earthiness of beetroot. This juice is best consumed fresh but can be refrigerated for up to 24 hours. To boost sweetness, add more apple or a small piece of orange.
